About More and Better Housing

An initiative dedicated to the combined challenges of housing shortages and changing climate, we mean to give policymakers, industry leaders, and mobilized citizens the means and the plans to deliver millions of new low-cost, low-carbon and resilient homes.

Getting it right

Housing policy is climate policy is affordability policy.

All three must be planned and implemented together.

Only then can we ensure that all Canadians live in communities that are sustainable, affordable and dignified.

The is the guiding principle from which More and Better Housing operates.

This is what getting it right looks like.

Executive Director

Adam Mongrain is Executive Director of More and Better Housing Canada. He was previously a member of the Housing and Climate Task Force and contributor to the Blueprint for More and Better Housing. Previously Director of Housing policy at Vivre en Ville, Adam and his team documented barriers to housing affordability in dense built environments and reframed the housing crisis as a cultural and governance challenge rather than a material one. His research interests include the disconnect between home price and household income trajectories, and improving neighbourhood quality without triggering exclusionary price increases. He writes and speaks widely on housing policy and market dynamics.
